This competition is open to individuals of any nationality and age and stories can be submitted from anywhere in the world.
Entries must be written in English and must be previously unpublished. Each entry can be based on true, real-life events or it can be fictional, but it must be the original, unpublished work of the stated individual. We cannot accept stories which have previously been published and previously published stories will be disqualified. Previously unpublished includes both online and in-print.
We will not accept posted or hand-delivered entries. All entries must be submitted online.
Entries will not be proof-read for spelling or grammatical errors and will be accepted as submitted.
It is a condition of entering the competition that members must be willing to have their work featured on this website as the winning entries will be featured on writeinfrance.co.uk
The closing date for the current competition entries is August 30th, 2008 at noon (BST).
The prize for the winner of each category is 100 € (Euros) and a free place on the writers' weekend based in Bergerac. A winner will be chosen by the judge from the shortlist based on the quality of the entry and not on the number of votes it achieved.
The judge's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into concerning this decision. The winning member will be notified by email. Details of the winner and runners up will be posted on the website.
Copyright of each entry will remain with that writer.
